Dr. Tamara Shulman is a clinical psychologist practicing for over 30 years. She is a member of The American Psychological Association, The New York State Psychological Association, The New Jersey Psychological Association and the American Board of Professional Psychology. She is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. She served as a member of the Mental Health Advisory Board of St. Mary’s Hospital and on the Hospital’s Allied Scientific Staff. She also serves on the Professional Advisory Board of BreastCancer.org.

Prior to joining St. Mary’s, Dr. Shulman was the Chief of Children’s Services at Elizabeth General Medical Center’s Department of Psychiatry, Community Mental Health Center. During her tenure as Chief, she was a member of the departmental executive committee, covered the ER on a regular basis, and provided individual, group and family psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, and children. She also performed psychological evaluations, consulted to the general hospital and to community agencies; and supervised interns and graduate students. Prior to working at Elizabeth General, Dr. Shulman was a Staff Psychologist at the Mental Health Clinic of Passaic, and a Consulting Psychologist with the New York City Board of Education.

Dr. Shulman has held teaching positions, supervised doctoral candidates and medical students and been on doctoral thesis committees at New York University, City College of New York (CCNY) of the City University of New York, Pace University and C.W. Post College. She has also presented programs at St. Mary’s Hospital, corporate employee assistance programs, foundations, numerous schools, and appeared on CNN and local cable television and in webcasts.
